In this A/C performance inspection, we’ll check out the current condition of your 1995 Cadillac DeVille A/C system to see if repair work is required. We’ll test overall system performance, check for any leaks, and measure the system pressure. If any signs point to a possible leak, we’ll send a special U/V dye through the system, or use something called a “sniffer.” What’s a “sniffer,” you ask? It’s a specially designed machine that’s used on parts of your Cadillac DeVille A/C system to detect any refrigerant fumes that might be leaking out from the system. If your A/C system has a leak, we’ll find and repair it.
When we perform an A/C repair on your 1995 Cadillac DeVille, we’ll also do an A/C evacuation and recharge. During this process, a technician will remove the old refrigerant from the A/C system. Then, they’ll perform an evacuation (also known as a discharge) on the entire system per Cadillac guidelines. The A/C system is recharged with new refrigerant and after one final test to be sure the system is cooling properly, you’re good to go. Our technicians are trained to efficiently perform 1995 Cadillac DeVille A/C recharges.
Hot air is a common Cadillac DeVille A/C problem, but it’s not the only issue you might encounter. Other common A/C problems include weak airflow, which could be caused by mold or mildew buildup, a loose hose, an old ventilation fan, or a compromised seal. An A/C system that starts off blowing cold air but then turns warm may suggest a leak, a blown fuse, or a damaged compressor clutch. Are you breathing in some “interesting” new odors in your 1995 Cadillac DeVille? This can mean you have mold in your evaporator case, or it may indicate that it’s time to change your cabin air filter. Our technicians will work to solve your A/C problems to the best of their ability. So, chill out. We're here to help you get the blast back in your DeVille’s A/C!
