During this initial A/C performance check, we’ll look at the state of your 2017 Cadillac Escalade’s A/C system to see if repair work is required. This check includes a visual inspection, performance test, and pressure and leak test. If we think there might be a leak, we'll run a special U/V dye through the system or use a "sniffer." What’s a “sniffer,” you ask? It’s a specially designed machine that’s used on parts of your Cadillac Escalade A/C system to identify points where refrigerant fumes could be escaping the system. If your system has a leak, we can get it fixed.
While your 2017 Cadillac Escalade’s air conditioner is being serviced, we’ll also do an A/C evacuation and recharge. To do this, one of our technicians will remove the refrigerant in your A/C system (if there is even any left to remove). Then, they’ll perform an evacuation (also known as a discharge) on the entire system per Cadillac guidelines. To finish, we’ll add new refrigerant to recharge the A/C system, and once the technician tests the cool blast for themselves, you’re all set. Our technicians know how to keep your A/C in tip-top shape with 2017 Cadillac Escalade A/C recharges.
Warm air isn't the only Cadillac Escalade A/C problem you may encounter. Another common A/C problem is weak airflow, which could mean you have a compromised seal, mildew or mold buildup, a loose or damaged hose, or a ventilation fan that needs to be replaced. If you notice that your A/C system’s air is cold at first, then quickly goes warm, this may suggest a leak, a blown fuse, or a damaged compressor clutch. Are you breathing in some “interesting” new odors in your 2017 Cadillac Escalade? This can mean you have mold in your evaporator case, or it may indicate that it’s time to change your cabin air filter. Technicians at Firestone Complete Auto Care are ready to help you address your A/C problems. Don’t sweat it — we’re here to help you chill out again in your Escalade.
