There’s nothing worse than cranking your car air conditioner on a hot day — and discovering it’s broken. Your steering wheel feels like it's burning your hands. Sweat soaks the driver's seat. We’ve got experience with Chevrolet vehicles, and our qualified technicians can diagnose and service the A/C system in your 1987 Chevrolet. Come to your local Firestone Complete Auto Care in your Chevrolet Celebrity
During this initial A/C performance check, we’ll look at the state of your 1987 Chevrolet Celebrity’s A/C system to determine whether repair work is needed. This check includes a visual inspection, performance test, and pressure and leak test. If we suspect a leak, we’ll send a U/V dye through your A/C system or use a “sniffer” to find the leak. What’s a “sniffer,” you ask? It’s a specially designed machine that’s used on parts of your Chevrolet Celebrity A/C system to detect refrigerant fumes escaping from the system. If your A/C system has a leak, we’ll find and repair it.
While your 1987 Chevrolet Celebrity’s air conditioner is being serviced, we’ll also do an A/C evacuation and recharge. To do this, one of our technicians will remove the refrigerant in your A/C system (if there is even any left to remove). Then, they’ll use Chevrolet’s specifications to evacuate the system. Finally, we’ll recharge the A/C system with new refrigerant and once we’ve done a final test on the system ourselves, you're ready to get back on the road. Our technicians are trained to efficiently perform 1987 Chevrolet Celebrity A/C recharges.
Hot air is a common Chevrolet Celebrity A/C problem, but it’s not the only issue you might encounter. Typical A/C problems also include weak airflow, which could indicate an old ventilation fan, a seal or hose that needs replacing, or mold buildup in your A/C system. If you notice that your A/C system’s air is cold at first, then quickly goes warm, this may be due to a clogged expansion valve, faulty compressor clutch, blown fuse, or leak. Are you breathing in some “interesting” new odors in your 1987 Chevrolet Celebrity? You could have a moldy evaporator case, or you may simply need a new cabin air filter installed. Our trained technicians will do what they can to solve your A/C problems. So, chill out. We're here to help you get the blast back in your Celebrity’s A/C!
