There’s nothing worse than cranking your car air conditioner on a hot day — and discovering it’s broken. Is that a hot stove? Nope, just your steering wheel. That puddle in the driver’s seat? Sweat. Ugh. You take a deep breath and ask yourself, “Who can fix my Chevrolet SS A/C?” Firestone Complete Auto Care — that’s who! We’ve got experience with Chevrolet vehicles, and our technicians are qualified to diagnose and repair 2015 Chevrolet SS A/C systems. Come to your local Firestone Complete Auto Care in your Chevrolet SS
During an A/C performance check, we'll determine the condition of your 2015 Chevrolet SS A/C system to see if repair work is required. This check includes a visual inspection, performance test, and pressure and leak test. If we suspect a leak, we’ll send a U/V dye through your A/C system or use a “sniffer” to find the leak. What’s a “sniffer,” you ask? It’s a specially designed machine that’s used on parts of your Chevrolet SS A/C system to detect any refrigerant fumes that might be leaking out from the system. If your A/C system has a leak, we’ll find and repair it.
When we perform an A/C repair on your 2015 Chevrolet SS, we’ll also do an A/C evacuation and recharge. To do this, one of our technicians will remove the refrigerant in your A/C system (if there is even any left to remove). Then, they’ll perform an evacuation (also known as a discharge) on the entire system per Chevrolet guidelines. Finally, we’ll recharge the A/C system with new refrigerant and after one final test to be sure the system is cooling properly, you’re all set. Our technicians are trained to efficiently perform 2015 Chevrolet SS A/C recharges.
You may think warm air is the only potential Chevrolet SS A/C problem you’ll have, but you may notice other issues, too. Another common A/C problem is weak airflow, which could mean you have a compromised seal, mildew or mold buildup, a loose or damaged hose, or a ventilation fan that needs to be replaced. If you notice that your A/C system’s air is cold at first, then quickly goes warm, this may suggest a leak, a blown fuse, or a damaged compressor clutch. And smelly A/C in a 2015 Chevrolet SS? That could be the result of a dirty cabin air filter (an easy fix!) or a moldy evaporator case. Technicians at Firestone Complete Auto Care are ready to help you address your A/C problems. Don’t sweat it — we’re here to help you chill out again in your SS.
