When you get in the car on a hot summer day, the last thing you want is a broken air conditioner. Is that a hot stove? Nope, just your steering wheel. That puddle in the driver’s seat? Sweat. Ugh. You wipe your brow and wonder, "Who can fix the A/C in my Ford F-150?" Easy — Firestone Complete Auto Care! We know Ford vehicles, and our technicians are qualified to diagnose and repair 1993 Ford F-150 A/C systems. Bring your Ford F-150 to your local Firestone Complete Auto Care
In this A/C performance inspection, we’ll check out the current condition of your 1993 Ford F-150 A/C system to evaluate what repairs are necessary (if any). This check includes a visual inspection, performance test, and pressure and leak test. If we suspect a leak, we’ll send a U/V dye through your A/C system or use a “sniffer” to find the leak. What’s a “sniffer,” you ask? It’s a specially designed machine that’s used on parts of your Ford F-150 A/C system to detect refrigerant fumes escaping from the system. If there's a leak, we'll find it and fix it.
While your 1993 Ford F-150’s air conditioner is being serviced, we’ll also do an A/C evacuation and recharge. To start this process, a technician will flush out the old refrigerant from your vehicle’s A/C system. Then, they’ll perform an evacuation (also known as a discharge) on the entire system per Ford guidelines. Finally, we’ll recharge the A/C system with new refrigerant and once we’ve done a final test on the system ourselves, you're ready to get back on the road. We want you to be comfortable in your car, so we train our technicians to perform 1993 Ford F-150 A/C recharges.
Hot air is a common Ford F-150 A/C problem, but it’s not the only issue you might encounter. Another common A/C problem is weak airflow, which could mean you have a compromised seal, mildew or mold buildup, a loose or damaged hose, or a ventilation fan that needs to be replaced. An A/C system that starts off blowing cold air but then turns warm may be due to a clogged expansion valve, faulty compressor clutch, blown fuse, or leak. Are you breathing in some “interesting” new odors in your 1993 Ford F-150? That could be the result of a dirty cabin air filter (an easy fix!) or a moldy evaporator case. Technicians at Firestone Complete Auto Care are ready to help you address your A/C problems. Don’t sweat it — we’re here to help you chill out again in your F-150.
