There’s nothing worse than cranking your car air conditioner on a hot day — and discovering it’s broken. Is that a hot stove? Nope, just your steering wheel. That puddle in the driver’s seat? Sweat. Ugh. You wipe your brow and wonder, "Who can fix the A/C in my Honda Clarity?" Easy — Firestone Complete Auto Care! We know Honda vehicles, and our qualified technicians can diagnose and service the A/C system in your 2018 Honda. Come to your local Firestone Complete Auto Care in your Honda Clarity
During this initial A/C performance check, we’ll look at the state of your 2018 Honda Clarity’s A/C system to determine whether repair work is needed. We’ll test overall system performance, check for any leaks, and measure the system pressure. If any signs point to a possible leak, we’ll send a special U/V dye through the system, or use something called a “sniffer.” A “sniffer” isn’t a technician with a good nose! It’s a machine that’s used on different parts of your Honda Clarity A/C system to detect any refrigerant fumes that might be leaking out from the system. If your system has a leak, we can get it fixed.
While your 2018 Honda Clarity’s air conditioner is being serviced, we’ll also do an A/C evacuation and recharge. During this process, a technician will remove the old refrigerant from the A/C system. Then, they’ll perform an evacuation (also known as a discharge) on the entire system per Honda guidelines. The A/C system is recharged with new refrigerant and after one final test to be sure the system is cooling properly, you’re all set. Our technicians are trained to efficiently perform 2018 Honda Clarity A/C recharges.
Hot air is a common Honda Clarity A/C problem, but it’s not the only issue you might encounter. Another common A/C problem is weak airflow, which could indicate an old ventilation fan, a seal or hose that needs replacing, or mold buildup in your A/C system. If your A/C system blows cold air first but then it turns warm, this can mean there’s a malfunctioning compressor clutch, a leak, or a blown fuse. What about those (somewhat unpleasant!) smells coming through the A/C vents in your 2018 Honda Clarity? That could be the result of a dirty cabin air filter (an easy fix!) or a moldy evaporator case. Our technicians will work to solve your A/C problems to the best of their ability. We’re here to help you get back on the road in your Clarity — without all the sweat puddles!
