When you get in the car on a hot summer day, the last thing you want is a broken air conditioner. Is that a hot stove? Nope, just your steering wheel. In this A/C performance inspection, we’ll check out the current condition of your 2011 Mercedes-Benz S400 A/C system to determine whether repair work is needed. This check includes a visual inspection, performance test, and pressure and leak test. If any signs point to a possible leak, we’ll send a special U/V dye through the system, or use something called a “sniffer.” What’s a “sniffer,” you ask? It’s a specially designed machine that’s used on parts of your Mercedes-Benz S400 A/C system to identify points where refrigerant fumes could be escaping the system. If your A/C system has a leak, we’ll find and repair it.
While your 2011 Mercedes-Benz S400’s air conditioner is being serviced, we’ll also do an A/C evacuation and recharge. To do this, one of our technicians will remove the refrigerant in your A/C system (if there is even any left to remove). Then, they’ll use Mercedes-Benz’s specifications to evacuate the system. Finally, we’ll recharge the A/C system with new refrigerant and once the technician tests the cool blast for themselves, you’re good to go. Our technicians are trained to efficiently perform 2011 Mercedes-Benz S400 A/C recharges.
Hot air is a common Mercedes-Benz S400 A/C problem, but it’s not the only issue you might encounter. Typical A/C problems also include weak airflow, which could mean you have a compromised seal, mildew or mold buildup, a loose or damaged hose, or a ventilation fan that needs to be replaced. An A/C system that starts off blowing cold air but then turns warm may suggest a leak, a blown fuse, or a damaged compressor clutch. Are you breathing in some “interesting” new odors in your 2011 Mercedes-Benz S400? You could have a moldy evaporator case, or you may simply need a new cabin air filter installed. Our trained technicians will do what they can to solve your A/C problems. We’re here to help you get back on the road in your S400 — without all the sweat puddles!
