We know Mercury vehicles, and our technicians are qualified to diagnose and repair 1993 Mercury Sable A/C systems. Bring your Mercury Sable to your local Firestone Complete Auto Care
During an A/C performance check, we'll determine the condition of your 1993 Mercury Sable A/C system to determine whether repair work is needed. We’ll test overall system performance, check for any leaks, and measure the system pressure. If any signs point to a possible leak, we’ll send a special U/V dye through the system, or use something called a “sniffer.” A “sniffer” isn’t a technician with a good nose! It’s a machine that’s used on different parts of your Mercury Sable A/C system to detect refrigerant fumes escaping from the system. If your A/C system has a leak, we’ll find and repair it.
While your 1993 Mercury Sable’s air conditioner is being serviced, we’ll also do an A/C evacuation and recharge. To do this, one of our technicians will remove the refrigerant in your A/C system (if there is even any left to remove). Then, they’ll perform an evacuation (also known as a discharge) on the entire system per Mercury guidelines. The A/C system is recharged with new refrigerant and after one final test to be sure the system is cooling properly, you’re all set. We want you to be comfortable in your car, so we train our technicians to perform 1993 Mercury Sable A/C recharges.
Warm air isn't the only Mercury Sable A/C problem you may encounter. Other common A/C problems include weak airflow, which could mean you have a compromised seal, mildew or mold buildup, a loose or damaged hose, or a ventilation fan that needs to be replaced. If you notice that your A/C system’s air is cold at first, then quickly goes warm, this may be due to a clogged expansion valve, faulty compressor clutch, blown fuse, or leak. Are you breathing in some “interesting” new odors in your 1993 Mercury Sable? You could have a moldy evaporator case, or you may simply need a new cabin air filter installed. Technicians at Firestone Complete Auto Care are ready to help you address your A/C problems. Don’t sweat it — we’re here to help you chill out again in your Sable.
