When you get in the car on a hot summer day, the last thing you want is a broken air conditioner. Your steering wheel feels like lava. Sweat soaks the driver's seat. You take a deep breath and ask yourself, “Who can fix my Mercury Sable A/C?” Easy — Firestone Complete Auto Care! We know our way around Mercury vehicles, and our technicians are qualified to diagnose and repair 2004 Mercury Sable A/C systems. Bring your Mercury Sable to your local Firestone Complete Auto Care
During this initial A/C performance check, we’ll look at the state of your 2004 Mercury Sable’s A/C system to evaluate what repairs are necessary (if any). This check will include an examination of system pressure, a visual inspection, and a leak test. If any signs point to a possible leak, we’ll send a special U/V dye through the system, or use something called a “sniffer.” What’s a “sniffer,” you ask? It’s a specially designed machine that’s used on parts of your Mercury Sable A/C system to identify points where refrigerant fumes could be escaping the system. If there's a leak, we'll find it and fix it.
While your 2004 Mercury Sable’s air conditioner is being serviced, we’ll also do an A/C evacuation and recharge. To do this, one of our technicians will remove the refrigerant in your A/C system (if there is even any left to remove). Next, they will evacuate the system according to Mercury's recommendations. The A/C system is recharged with new refrigerant and after one final test to be sure the system is cooling properly, you’re all set. Our technicians are trained to efficiently perform 2004 Mercury Sable A/C recharges.
Warm air isn't the only Mercury Sable A/C problem you may encounter. Another common A/C problem is weak airflow, which could indicate an old ventilation fan, a seal or hose that needs replacing, or mold buildup in your A/C system. If your A/C system blows cold air first but then it turns warm, this may be due to a clogged expansion valve, faulty compressor clutch, blown fuse, or leak. What about those (somewhat unpleasant!) smells coming through the A/C vents in your 2004 Mercury Sable? You could have a moldy evaporator case, or you may simply need a new cabin air filter installed. Our trained technicians will do what they can to solve your A/C problems. We’re here to help you get back on the road in your Sable — without all the sweat puddles!
