There’s nothing worse than cranking your car air conditioner on a hot day — and discovering it’s broken. Is that a hot stove? Nope, just your steering wheel. Your skin sticks to the driver’s seat. “Who can fix my Plymouth Acclaim A/C?” you wonder, as the sun beats through the windshield. Easy — Firestone Complete Auto Care! We’ve got experience with Plymouth vehicles, and our trained technicians can identify and repair issues with 1994 Plymouth A/C systems. During this initial A/C performance check, we’ll look at the state of your 1994 Plymouth Acclaim’s A/C system to determine whether repair work is needed. This check includes a visual inspection, performance test, and pressure and leak test. If any signs point to a possible leak, we’ll send a special U/V dye through the system, or use something called a “sniffer.” What’s a “sniffer,” you ask? It’s a specially designed machine that’s used on parts of your Plymouth Acclaim A/C system to detect refrigerant fumes escaping from the system. If there's a leak, we'll find it and fix it.
While your 1994 Plymouth Acclaim’s air conditioner is being serviced, we’ll also do an A/C evacuation and recharge. To do this, one of our technicians will remove the refrigerant in your A/C system (if there is even any left to remove). Then, they’ll perform an evacuation (also known as a discharge) on the entire system per Plymouth guidelines. To finish, we’ll add new refrigerant to recharge the A/C system, and after one final test to be sure the system is cooling properly, you’re all set. Our technicians are trained to efficiently perform 1994 Plymouth Acclaim A/C recharges.
Warm air isn't the only Plymouth Acclaim A/C problem you may encounter. Another common A/C problem is weak airflow, which could mean you have a compromised seal, mildew or mold buildup, a loose or damaged hose, or a ventilation fan that needs to be replaced. If you notice that your A/C system’s air is cold at first, then quickly goes warm, this may be due to a clogged expansion valve, faulty compressor clutch, blown fuse, or leak. What about those (somewhat unpleasant!) smells coming through the A/C vents in your 1994 Plymouth Acclaim? That could be the result of a dirty cabin air filter (an easy fix!) or a moldy evaporator case. Our trained technicians will do what they can to solve your A/C problems. We’re here to help you get back on the road in your Acclaim — without all the sweat puddles!
