There’s nothing worse than cranking your car air conditioner on a hot day — and discovering it’s broken. Your steering wheel feels like lava. Your skin sticks to the driver’s seat. You take a deep breath and ask yourself, “Who can fix my Volvo S60 A/C?” Firestone Complete Auto Care can! We’ve got experience with Volvo vehicles, and our qualified technicians can diagnose and service the A/C system in your 2003 Volvo. Steer your Volvo S60 to your nearest Firestone Complete Auto Care
In this A/C performance inspection, we’ll check out the current condition of your 2003 Volvo S60 A/C system to evaluate what repairs are necessary (if any). This check will include an examination of system pressure, a visual inspection, and a leak test. If any signs point to a possible leak, we’ll send a special U/V dye through the system, or use something called a “sniffer.” What’s a “sniffer,” you ask? It’s a specially designed machine that’s used on parts of your Volvo S60 A/C system to detect refrigerant fumes escaping from the system. If your system has a leak, we can get it fixed.
While your 2003 Volvo S60’s air conditioner is being serviced, we’ll also do an A/C evacuation and recharge. To do this, one of our technicians will remove the refrigerant in your A/C system (if there is even any left to remove). Then, they’ll perform an evacuation (also known as a discharge) on the entire system per Volvo guidelines. To finish, we’ll add new refrigerant to recharge the A/C system, and once we’ve done a final test on the system ourselves, you're ready to get back on the road. Our technicians are trained to efficiently perform 2003 Volvo S60 A/C recharges.
Hot air is a common Volvo S60 A/C problem, but it’s not the only issue you might encounter. Typical A/C problems also include weak airflow, which could be caused by mold or mildew buildup, a loose hose, an old ventilation fan, or a compromised seal. If your A/C system blows cold air first but then it turns warm, this may suggest a leak, a blown fuse, or a damaged compressor clutch. Are you breathing in some “interesting” new odors in your 2003 Volvo S60? You could have a moldy evaporator case, or you may simply need a new cabin air filter installed. Our trained technicians will do what they can to solve your A/C problems. Don’t sweat it — we’re here to help you chill out again in your S60.
