There’s nothing worse than cranking your car air conditioner on a hot day — and discovering it’s broken. Your steering wheel feels like it's burning your hands. During this initial A/C performance check, we’ll look at the state of your 2023 Volvo S60’s A/C system to see if repair work is required. We’ll test overall system performance, check for any leaks, and measure the system pressure. If any signs point to a possible leak, we’ll send a special U/V dye through the system, or use something called a “sniffer.” What’s a “sniffer,” you ask? It’s a specially designed machine that’s used on parts of your Volvo S60 A/C system to detect any refrigerant fumes that might be leaking out from the system. If your A/C system has a leak, we’ll find and repair it.
When we perform an A/C repair on your 2023 Volvo S60, we’ll also do an A/C evacuation and recharge. To do this, one of our technicians will remove the refrigerant in your A/C system (if there is even any left to remove). Then, they’ll use Volvo’s specifications to evacuate the system. To finish, we’ll add new refrigerant to recharge the A/C system, and once the technician tests the cool blast for themselves, you’re good to go. Our technicians are trained to efficiently perform 2023 Volvo S60 A/C recharges.
Warm air isn't the only Volvo S60 A/C problem you may encounter. Typical A/C problems also include weak airflow, which could be caused by mold or mildew buildup, a loose hose, an old ventilation fan, or a compromised seal. An A/C system that starts off blowing cold air but then turns warm may suggest a leak, a blown fuse, or a damaged compressor clutch. Are you breathing in some “interesting” new odors in your 2023 Volvo S60? This can mean you have mold in your evaporator case, or it may indicate that it’s time to change your cabin air filter. Our technicians will work to solve your A/C problems to the best of their ability. So, chill out. We're here to help you get the blast back in your S60’s A/C!
