When you get in the car on a hot summer day, the last thing you want is a broken air conditioner. Your steering wheel feels like it's burning your hands. That puddle in the driver’s seat? Sweat. Ugh. You wipe your brow and wonder, "Who can fix the A/C in my Volvo XC40?" Firestone Complete Auto Care can! We know Volvo vehicles, and our qualified technicians can diagnose and service the A/C system in your 2022 Volvo. Bring your Volvo XC40 to your local Firestone Complete Auto Care
In this A/C performance inspection, we’ll check out the current condition of your 2022 Volvo XC40 A/C system to see if repair work is required. We’ll test overall system performance, check for any leaks, and measure the system pressure. If any signs point to a possible leak, we’ll send a special U/V dye through the system, or use something called a “sniffer.” What’s a “sniffer,” you ask? It’s a specially designed machine that’s used on parts of your Volvo XC40 A/C system to detect any refrigerant fumes that might be leaking out from the system. If your system has a leak, we can get it fixed.
While your 2022 Volvo XC40’s air conditioner is being serviced, we’ll also do an A/C evacuation and recharge. To do this, one of our technicians will remove the refrigerant in your A/C system (if there is even any left to remove). Next, they will evacuate the system according to Volvo's recommendations. The A/C system is recharged with new refrigerant and after one final test to be sure the system is cooling properly, you’re all set. Our technicians are trained to efficiently perform 2022 Volvo XC40 A/C recharges.
You may think warm air is the only potential Volvo XC40 A/C problem you’ll have, but you may notice other issues, too. Typical A/C problems also include weak airflow, which could mean you have a compromised seal, mildew or mold buildup, a loose or damaged hose, or a ventilation fan that needs to be replaced. If your A/C system blows cold air first but then it turns warm, this can mean there’s a malfunctioning compressor clutch, a leak, or a blown fuse. And smelly A/C in a 2022 Volvo XC40? That could be the result of a dirty cabin air filter (an easy fix!) or a moldy evaporator case. Our trained technicians will do what they can to solve your A/C problems. Don’t sweat it — we’re here to help you chill out again in your XC40.
