Few things are worse than a broken car air conditioner on a hot summer day. Your steering wheel feels like lava. Sweat soaks the driver's seat. You take a deep breath and ask yourself, “Who can fix my Acura MDX A/C?” Firestone Complete Auto Care can! We know Acura vehicles, and our qualified technicians can diagnose and service the A/C system in your 2014 Acura. Bring your Acura MDX to your local Firestone Complete Auto Care
During this initial A/C performance check, we’ll look at the state of your 2014 Acura MDX’s A/C system to determine whether repair work is needed. This check includes a visual inspection, performance test, and pressure and leak test. If we suspect a leak, we’ll send a U/V dye through your A/C system or use a “sniffer” to find the leak. What’s a “sniffer,” you ask? It’s a specially designed machine that’s used on parts of your Acura MDX A/C system to detect refrigerant fumes escaping from the system. If your A/C system has a leak, we’ll find and repair it.
When we perform an A/C repair on your 2014 Acura MDX, we’ll also do an A/C evacuation and recharge. To start this process, a technician will flush out the old refrigerant from your vehicle’s A/C system. Then, they’ll perform an evacuation (also known as a discharge) on the entire system per Acura guidelines. To finish, we’ll add new refrigerant to recharge the A/C system, and after one final test to be sure the system is cooling properly, you’re good to go. We want you to be comfortable in your car, so we train our technicians to perform 2014 Acura MDX A/C recharges.
Warm air isn't the only Acura MDX A/C problem you may encounter. Typical A/C problems also include weak airflow, which could be caused by mold or mildew buildup, a loose hose, an old ventilation fan, or a compromised seal. If your A/C system blows cold air first but then it turns warm, this can mean there’s a malfunctioning compressor clutch, a leak, or a blown fuse. Are you breathing in some “interesting” new odors in your 2014 Acura MDX? This can mean you have mold in your evaporator case, or it may indicate that it’s time to change your cabin air filter. Our trained technicians will do what they can to solve your A/C problems. So, chill out. We're here to help you get the blast back in your MDX’s A/C!
