There’s nothing worse than cranking your car air conditioner on a hot day — and discovering it’s broken. Is that a hot stove? Nope, just your steering wheel. Your skin sticks to the driver’s seat. You wipe your brow and wonder, "Who can fix the A/C in my Acura RDX?" Easy — Firestone Complete Auto Care! We know Acura vehicles, and our qualified technicians can diagnose and service the A/C system in your 2013 Acura. Bring your Acura RDX to your local Firestone Complete Auto Care
During an A/C performance check, we'll determine the condition of your 2013 Acura RDX A/C system to determine whether repair work is needed. This check will include an examination of system pressure, a visual inspection, and a leak test. If any signs point to a possible leak, we’ll send a special U/V dye through the system, or use something called a “sniffer.” A "sniffer" is a machine that's run along parts of your Acura RDX A/C system that can identify points where refrigerant fumes could be escaping the system. If your A/C system has a leak, we’ll find and repair it.
While your 2013 Acura RDX’s air conditioner is being serviced, we’ll also do an A/C evacuation and recharge. During this process, a technician will remove the old refrigerant from the A/C system. Then, they’ll perform an evacuation (also known as a discharge) on the entire system per Acura guidelines. The A/C system is recharged with new refrigerant and after one final test to be sure the system is cooling properly, you’re all set. Our technicians are trained to efficiently perform 2013 Acura RDX A/C recharges.
You may think warm air is the only potential Acura RDX A/C problem you’ll have, but you may notice other issues, too. Another common A/C problem is weak airflow, which could indicate an old ventilation fan, a seal or hose that needs replacing, or mold buildup in your A/C system. If you notice that your A/C system’s air is cold at first, then quickly goes warm, this may be due to a clogged expansion valve, faulty compressor clutch, blown fuse, or leak. Are you breathing in some “interesting” new odors in your 2013 Acura RDX? That could be the result of a dirty cabin air filter (an easy fix!) or a moldy evaporator case. Our trained technicians will do what they can to solve your A/C problems. So, chill out. We're here to help you get the blast back in your RDX’s A/C!
