Few things are worse than a broken car air conditioner on a hot summer day. Is that a hot stove? Nope, just your steering wheel. Your skin sticks to the driver’s seat. We’ve got experience with Audi vehicles, and our technicians are qualified to diagnose and repair 2017 Audi A4 A/C systems. Steer your Audi A4 to your nearest Firestone Complete Auto Care
During this initial A/C performance check, we’ll look at the state of your 2017 Audi A4’s A/C system to evaluate what repairs are necessary (if any). We’ll test overall system performance, check for any leaks, and measure the system pressure. If we suspect a leak, we’ll send a U/V dye through your A/C system or use a “sniffer” to find the leak. A “sniffer” isn’t a technician with a good nose! It’s a machine that’s used on different parts of your Audi A4 A/C system to detect any refrigerant fumes that might be leaking out from the system. If there's a leak, we'll find it and fix it.
When we perform an A/C repair on your 2017 Audi A4, we’ll also do an A/C evacuation and recharge. To do this, one of our technicians will remove the refrigerant in your A/C system (if there is even any left to remove). Then, they’ll perform an evacuation (also known as a discharge) on the entire system per Audi guidelines. To finish, we’ll add new refrigerant to recharge the A/C system, and after one final test to be sure the system is cooling properly, you're ready to get back on the road. We want you to be comfortable in your car, so we train our technicians to perform 2017 Audi A4 A/C recharges.
You may think warm air is the only potential Audi A4 A/C problem you’ll have, but you may notice other issues, too. Other common A/C problems include weak airflow, which could indicate an old ventilation fan, a seal or hose that needs replacing, or mold buildup in your A/C system. If you notice that your A/C system’s air is cold at first, then quickly goes warm, this can mean there’s a malfunctioning compressor clutch, a leak, or a blown fuse. What about those (somewhat unpleasant!) smells coming through the A/C vents in your 2017 Audi A4? You could have a moldy evaporator case, or you may simply need a new cabin air filter installed. Technicians at Firestone Complete Auto Care are ready to help you address your A/C problems. So, chill out. We're here to help you get the blast back in your A4’s A/C!
