There’s nothing worse than cranking your car air conditioner on a hot day — and discovering it’s broken. Your steering wheel feels like it's burning your hands. Your skin sticks to the driver’s seat. You wipe your brow and wonder, "Who can fix the A/C in my Audi R8?" Firestone Complete Auto Care can! We’ve got experience with Audi vehicles, and our technicians are qualified to diagnose and repair 2014 Audi R8 A/C systems. Bring your Audi R8 to your local Firestone Complete Auto Care
During this initial A/C performance check, we’ll look at the state of your 2014 Audi R8’s A/C system to determine whether repair work is needed. This check includes a visual inspection, performance test, and pressure and leak test. If any signs point to a possible leak, we’ll send a special U/V dye through the system, or use something called a “sniffer.” A “sniffer” isn’t a technician with a good nose! It’s a machine that’s used on different parts of your Audi R8 A/C system to detect refrigerant fumes escaping from the system. If your A/C system has a leak, we’ll find and repair it.
While your 2014 Audi R8’s air conditioner is being serviced, we’ll also do an A/C evacuation and recharge. To do this, one of our technicians will remove the refrigerant in your A/C system (if there is even any left to remove). Then, they’ll use Audi’s specifications to evacuate the system. Finally, we’ll recharge the A/C system with new refrigerant and once we’ve done a final test on the system ourselves, you’re good to go. Our technicians are trained to efficiently perform 2014 Audi R8 A/C recharges.
You may think warm air is the only potential Audi R8 A/C problem you’ll have, but you may notice other issues, too. Another common A/C problem is weak airflow, which could indicate an old ventilation fan, a seal or hose that needs replacing, or mold buildup in your A/C system. An A/C system that starts off blowing cold air but then turns warm can mean there’s a malfunctioning compressor clutch, a leak, or a blown fuse. What about those (somewhat unpleasant!) smells coming through the A/C vents in your 2014 Audi R8? You could have a moldy evaporator case, or you may simply need a new cabin air filter installed. Our technicians will work to solve your A/C problems to the best of their ability. We’re here to help you get back on the road in your R8 — without all the sweat puddles!
