Few things are worse than a broken car air conditioner on a hot summer day. Your steering wheel feels like it's burning your hands. Your skin sticks to the driver’s seat. “Who can fix my Audi TT A/C?” you wonder, as the sun beats through the windshield. Easy — Firestone Complete Auto Care! We’ve got experience with Audi vehicles, and our trained technicians can identify and repair issues with 2004 Audi A/C systems. Bring your Audi TT to your local Firestone Complete Auto Care
During this initial A/C performance check, we’ll look at the state of your 2004 Audi TT’s A/C system to see if repair work is required. This check will include an examination of system pressure, a visual inspection, and a leak test. If any signs point to a possible leak, we’ll send a special U/V dye through the system, or use something called a “sniffer.” A “sniffer” isn’t a technician with a good nose! It’s a machine that’s used on different parts of your Audi TT A/C system to detect any refrigerant fumes that might be leaking out from the system. If your A/C system has a leak, we’ll find and repair it.
While your 2004 Audi TT’s air conditioner is being serviced, we’ll also do an A/C evacuation and recharge. During this process, a technician will remove the old refrigerant from the A/C system. Then, they’ll use Audi’s specifications to evacuate the system. The A/C system is recharged with new refrigerant and after one final test to be sure the system is cooling properly, you’re all set. We want you to be comfortable in your car, so we train our technicians to perform 2004 Audi TT A/C recharges.
Warm air isn't the only Audi TT A/C problem you may encounter. Another common A/C problem is weak airflow, which could indicate an old ventilation fan, a seal or hose that needs replacing, or mold buildup in your A/C system. If you notice that your A/C system’s air is cold at first, then quickly goes warm, this may suggest a leak, a blown fuse, or a damaged compressor clutch. Are you breathing in some “interesting” new odors in your 2004 Audi TT? You could have a moldy evaporator case, or you may simply need a new cabin air filter installed. Technicians at Firestone Complete Auto Care are ready to help you address your A/C problems. We’re here to help you get back on the road in your TT — without all the sweat puddles!
