When you get in the car on a hot summer day, the last thing you want is a broken air conditioner. Your steering wheel feels like it's burning your hands. Sweat soaks the driver's seat. You wipe your brow and wonder, "Who can fix the A/C in my BMW 650i xDrive?" Firestone Complete Auto Care can! We know our way around BMW vehicles, and our technicians are qualified to diagnose and repair 2018 BMW 650i xDrive A/C systems. Come to your local Firestone Complete Auto Care in your BMW 650i xDrive
During an A/C performance check, we'll determine the condition of your 2018 BMW 650i xDrive A/C system to determine whether repair work is needed. We’ll test overall system performance, check for any leaks, and measure the system pressure. If any signs point to a possible leak, we’ll send a special U/V dye through the system, or use something called a “sniffer.” What’s a “sniffer,” you ask? It’s a specially designed machine that’s used on parts of your BMW 650i xDrive A/C system to identify points where refrigerant fumes could be escaping the system. If your system has a leak, we can get it fixed.
When we perform an A/C repair on your 2018 BMW 650i xDrive, we’ll also do an A/C evacuation and recharge. During this process, a technician will remove the old refrigerant from the A/C system. Then, they’ll perform an evacuation (also known as a discharge) on the entire system per BMW guidelines. To finish, we’ll add new refrigerant to recharge the A/C system, and after one final test to be sure the system is cooling properly, you're ready to get back on the road. We want you to be comfortable in your car, so we train our technicians to perform 2018 BMW 650i xDrive A/C recharges.
Hot air is a common BMW 650i xDrive A/C problem, but it’s not the only issue you might encounter. Another common A/C problem is weak airflow, which could be caused by mold or mildew buildup, a loose hose, an old ventilation fan, or a compromised seal. An A/C system that starts off blowing cold air but then turns warm may suggest a leak, a blown fuse, or a damaged compressor clutch. What about those (somewhat unpleasant!) smells coming through the A/C vents in your 2018 BMW 650i xDrive? You could have a moldy evaporator case, or you may simply need a new cabin air filter installed. Our technicians will work to solve your A/C problems to the best of their ability. Don’t sweat it — we’re here to help you chill out again in your 650i xDrive.
