When you get in the car on a hot summer day, the last thing you want is a broken air conditioner. Your steering wheel feels like lava. We know BMW vehicles, and our qualified technicians can diagnose and service the A/C system in your 2021 BMW. Steer your BMW i3s to your nearest Firestone Complete Auto Care
In this A/C performance inspection, we’ll check out the current condition of your 2021 BMW i3s A/C system to evaluate what repairs are necessary (if any). This check will include an examination of system pressure, a visual inspection, and a leak test. If any signs point to a possible leak, we’ll send a special U/V dye through the system, or use something called a “sniffer.” A “sniffer” isn’t a technician with a good nose! It’s a machine that’s used on different parts of your BMW i3s A/C system to detect refrigerant fumes escaping from the system. If your A/C system has a leak, we’ll find and repair it.
While your 2021 BMW i3s’s air conditioner is being serviced, we’ll also do an A/C evacuation and recharge. To do this, one of our technicians will remove the refrigerant in your A/C system (if there is even any left to remove). Then, they’ll use BMW’s specifications to evacuate the system. To finish, we’ll add new refrigerant to recharge the A/C system, and after one final test to be sure the system is cooling properly, you’re all set. Our technicians are trained to efficiently perform 2021 BMW i3s A/C recharges.
Warm air isn't the only BMW i3s A/C problem you may encounter. Other common A/C problems include weak airflow, which could be caused by mold or mildew buildup, a loose hose, an old ventilation fan, or a compromised seal. If you notice that your A/C system’s air is cold at first, then quickly goes warm, this may suggest a leak, a blown fuse, or a damaged compressor clutch. And smelly A/C in a 2021 BMW i3s? That could be the result of a dirty cabin air filter (an easy fix!) or a moldy evaporator case. Our trained technicians will do what they can to solve your A/C problems. Don’t sweat it — we’re here to help you chill out again in your i3s.
