When you get in the car on a hot summer day, the last thing you want is a broken air conditioner. Your steering wheel feels like it's burning your hands. Your skin sticks to the driver’s seat. “Who can fix my BMW X3 A/C?” you wonder, as the sun beats through the windshield. Firestone Complete Auto Care can! We know our way around BMW vehicles, and our qualified technicians can diagnose and service the A/C system in your 2008 BMW. Steer your BMW X3 to your nearest Firestone Complete Auto Care
In this A/C performance inspection, we’ll check out the current condition of your 2008 BMW X3 A/C system to see if repair work is required. This check includes a visual inspection, performance test, and pressure and leak test. If we suspect a leak, we’ll send a U/V dye through your A/C system or use a “sniffer” to find the leak. A "sniffer" is a machine that's run along parts of your BMW X3 A/C system that can detect refrigerant fumes escaping from the system. If your A/C system has a leak, we’ll find and repair it.
When we perform an A/C repair on your 2008 BMW X3, we’ll also do an A/C evacuation and recharge. To do this, one of our technicians will remove the refrigerant in your A/C system (if there is even any left to remove). Then, they’ll use BMW’s specifications to evacuate the system. The A/C system is recharged with new refrigerant and once the technician tests the cool blast for themselves, you’re good to go. Our technicians are trained to efficiently perform 2008 BMW X3 A/C recharges.
Warm air isn't the only BMW X3 A/C problem you may encounter. Another common A/C problem is weak airflow, which could mean you have a compromised seal, mildew or mold buildup, a loose or damaged hose, or a ventilation fan that needs to be replaced. If your A/C system blows cold air first but then it turns warm, this may be due to a clogged expansion valve, faulty compressor clutch, blown fuse, or leak. What about those (somewhat unpleasant!) smells coming through the A/C vents in your 2008 BMW X3? That could be the result of a dirty cabin air filter (an easy fix!) or a moldy evaporator case. Our trained technicians will do what they can to solve your A/C problems. Don’t sweat it — we’re here to help you chill out again in your X3.
