Few things are worse than a broken car air conditioner on a hot summer day. Your steering wheel feels like lava. That puddle in the driver’s seat? Sweat. Ugh. You take a deep breath and ask yourself, “Who can fix my Kia Soul EV A/C?” Easy — Firestone Complete Auto Care! We know Kia vehicles, and our technicians are qualified to diagnose and repair 2018 Kia Soul EV A/C systems. Bring your Kia Soul EV to your local Firestone Complete Auto Care
In this A/C performance inspection, we’ll check out the current condition of your 2018 Kia Soul EV A/C system to evaluate what repairs are necessary (if any). We’ll test overall system performance, check for any leaks, and measure the system pressure. If any signs point to a possible leak, we’ll send a special U/V dye through the system, or use something called a “sniffer.” What’s a “sniffer,” you ask? It’s a specially designed machine that’s used on parts of your Kia Soul EV A/C system to identify points where refrigerant fumes could be escaping the system. If your system has a leak, we can get it fixed.
While your 2018 Kia Soul EV’s air conditioner is being serviced, we’ll also do an A/C evacuation and recharge. To do this, one of our technicians will remove the refrigerant in your A/C system (if there is even any left to remove). Next, they will evacuate the system according to Kia's recommendations. To finish, we’ll add new refrigerant to recharge the A/C system, and after one final test to be sure the system is cooling properly, you're ready to get back on the road. Our technicians are trained to efficiently perform 2018 Kia Soul EV A/C recharges.
You may think warm air is the only potential Kia Soul EV A/C problem you’ll have, but you may notice other issues, too. Other common A/C problems include weak airflow, which could mean you have a compromised seal, mildew or mold buildup, a loose or damaged hose, or a ventilation fan that needs to be replaced. If you notice that your A/C system’s air is cold at first, then quickly goes warm, this may suggest a leak, a blown fuse, or a damaged compressor clutch. Are you breathing in some “interesting” new odors in your 2018 Kia Soul EV? That could be the result of a dirty cabin air filter (an easy fix!) or a moldy evaporator case. Technicians at Firestone Complete Auto Care are ready to help you address your A/C problems. So, chill out. We're here to help you get the blast back in your Soul EV’s A/C!
