In this A/C performance inspection, we’ll check out the current condition of your 2018 Kia Soul A/C system to evaluate what repairs are necessary (if any). We’ll test overall system performance, check for any leaks, and measure the system pressure. If any signs point to a possible leak, we’ll send a special U/V dye through the system, or use something called a “sniffer.” What’s a “sniffer,” you ask? It’s a specially designed machine that’s used on parts of your Kia Soul A/C system to detect refrigerant fumes escaping from the system. If your A/C system has a leak, we’ll find and repair it.
Let's say we repair your 2018 Kia Soul A/C system. We will also perform an A/C evacuation and recharge. To do this, one of our technicians will remove the refrigerant in your A/C system (if there is even any left to remove). Then, they’ll perform an evacuation (also known as a discharge) on the entire system per Kia guidelines. To finish, we’ll add new refrigerant to recharge the A/C system, and once we’ve done a final test on the system ourselves, you’re good to go. Our technicians are trained to efficiently perform 2018 Kia Soul A/C recharges.
Warm air isn't the only Kia Soul A/C problem you may encounter. Another common A/C problem is weak airflow, which could be caused by mold or mildew buildup, a loose hose, an old ventilation fan, or a compromised seal. An A/C system that starts off blowing cold air but then turns warm can mean there’s a malfunctioning compressor clutch, a leak, or a blown fuse. Are you breathing in some “interesting” new odors in your 2018 Kia Soul? You could have a moldy evaporator case, or you may simply need a new cabin air filter installed. Our technicians will work to solve your A/C problems to the best of their ability. We’re here to help you get back on the road in your Soul — without all the sweat puddles!
