Few things are worse than a broken car air conditioner on a hot summer day. Your steering wheel feels like it's burning your hands. That puddle in the driver’s seat? Sweat. Ugh. “Who can fix my Scion FR-S A/C?” you wonder, as the sun beats through the windshield. Easy — Firestone Complete Auto Care! We know Scion vehicles, and our trained technicians can identify and repair issues with 2015 Scion A/C systems. Come to your local Firestone Complete Auto Care in your Scion FR-S
In this A/C performance inspection, we’ll check out the current condition of your 2015 Scion FR-S A/C system to see if repair work is required. This check will include an examination of system pressure, a visual inspection, and a leak test. If we suspect a leak, we’ll send a U/V dye through your A/C system or use a “sniffer” to find the leak. A "sniffer" is a machine that's run along parts of your Scion FR-S A/C system that can identify points where refrigerant fumes could be escaping the system. If your system has a leak, we can get it fixed.
Let's say we repair your 2015 Scion FR-S A/C system. We will also perform an A/C evacuation and recharge. To do this, one of our technicians will remove the refrigerant in your A/C system (if there is even any left to remove). Then, they’ll perform an evacuation (also known as a discharge) on the entire system per Scion guidelines. The A/C system is recharged with new refrigerant and after one final test to be sure the system is cooling properly, you're ready to get back on the road. We want you to be comfortable in your car, so we train our technicians to perform 2015 Scion FR-S A/C recharges.
Warm air isn't the only Scion FR-S A/C problem you may encounter. Other common A/C problems include weak airflow, which could indicate an old ventilation fan, a seal or hose that needs replacing, or mold buildup in your A/C system. If your A/C system blows cold air first but then it turns warm, this can mean there’s a malfunctioning compressor clutch, a leak, or a blown fuse. Are you breathing in some “interesting” new odors in your 2015 Scion FR-S? That could be the result of a dirty cabin air filter (an easy fix!) or a moldy evaporator case. Our technicians will work to solve your A/C problems to the best of their ability. We’re here to help you get back on the road in your FR-S — without all the sweat puddles!
