Few things are worse than a broken car air conditioner on a hot summer day. Is that a hot stove? Nope, just your steering wheel. That puddle in the driver’s seat? Sweat. Ugh. You wipe your brow and wonder, "Who can fix the A/C in my Scion xA?" Firestone Complete Auto Care can! We know our way around Scion vehicles, and our qualified technicians can diagnose and service the A/C system in your 2005 Scion. Bring your Scion xA to your local Firestone Complete Auto Care
In this A/C performance inspection, we’ll check out the current condition of your 2005 Scion xA A/C system to determine whether repair work is needed. This check includes a visual inspection, performance test, and pressure and leak test. If any signs point to a possible leak, we’ll send a special U/V dye through the system, or use something called a “sniffer.” A "sniffer" is a machine that's run along parts of your Scion xA A/C system that can detect refrigerant fumes escaping from the system. If there's a leak, we'll find it and fix it.
When we perform an A/C repair on your 2005 Scion xA, we’ll also do an A/C evacuation and recharge. During this process, a technician will remove the old refrigerant from the A/C system. Then, they’ll perform an evacuation (also known as a discharge) on the entire system per Scion guidelines. Finally, we’ll recharge the A/C system with new refrigerant and once the technician tests the cool blast for themselves, you’re good to go. Our technicians are trained to efficiently perform 2005 Scion xA A/C recharges.
You may think warm air is the only potential Scion xA A/C problem you’ll have, but you may notice other issues, too. Another common A/C problem is weak airflow, which could be caused by mold or mildew buildup, a loose hose, an old ventilation fan, or a compromised seal. An A/C system that starts off blowing cold air but then turns warm may suggest a leak, a blown fuse, or a damaged compressor clutch. Are you breathing in some “interesting” new odors in your 2005 Scion xA? That could be the result of a dirty cabin air filter (an easy fix!) or a moldy evaporator case. Our trained technicians will do what they can to solve your A/C problems. So, chill out. We're here to help you get the blast back in your xA’s A/C!
