When you get in the car on a hot summer day, the last thing you want is a broken air conditioner. Is that a hot stove? Nope, just your steering wheel. That puddle in the driver’s seat? Sweat. Ugh. “Who can fix my Scion xD A/C?” you wonder, as the sun beats through the windshield. Firestone Complete Auto Care can! We know Scion vehicles, and our technicians are qualified to diagnose and repair 2013 Scion xD A/C systems. Steer your Scion xD to your nearest Firestone Complete Auto Care
During an A/C performance check, we'll determine the condition of your 2013 Scion xD A/C system to see if repair work is required. This check will include an examination of system pressure, a visual inspection, and a leak test. If any signs point to a possible leak, we’ll send a special U/V dye through the system, or use something called a “sniffer.” A "sniffer" is a machine that's run along parts of your Scion xD A/C system that can identify points where refrigerant fumes could be escaping the system. If your system has a leak, we can get it fixed.
While your 2013 Scion xD’s air conditioner is being serviced, we’ll also do an A/C evacuation and recharge. To do this, one of our technicians will remove the refrigerant in your A/C system (if there is even any left to remove). Then, they’ll perform an evacuation (also known as a discharge) on the entire system per Scion guidelines. The A/C system is recharged with new refrigerant and once the technician tests the cool blast for themselves, you’re good to go. We want you to be comfortable in your car, so we train our technicians to perform 2013 Scion xD A/C recharges.
You may think warm air is the only potential Scion xD A/C problem you’ll have, but you may notice other issues, too. Typical A/C problems also include weak airflow, which could be caused by mold or mildew buildup, a loose hose, an old ventilation fan, or a compromised seal. An A/C system that starts off blowing cold air but then turns warm can mean there’s a malfunctioning compressor clutch, a leak, or a blown fuse. What about those (somewhat unpleasant!) smells coming through the A/C vents in your 2013 Scion xD? You could have a moldy evaporator case, or you may simply need a new cabin air filter installed. Our trained technicians will do what they can to solve your A/C problems. Don’t sweat it — we’re here to help you chill out again in your xD.
